Portrait of cellist Clement Chow

Clement Chow is a Los Angeles-based cellist whose playing brings together old-world training, dramatic instinct, and a deeply expressive sound. His musical path has taken him from solo appearances with the Houston Symphony to orchestral roles with the Riverside Philharmonic and Redlands Symphony, as well as performances with orchestras in Berlin and Munich.

Classically trained at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Clement has worked in some of the most respected musical environments in the world, including Aspen Music Festival, Pacific Music Festival, Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, and chamber music festivals abroad. He has studied with and performed for many of the great artists and ensembles of the classical tradition, including Lynn Harrell, Ralph Kirshbaum, Heinrich Schiff, the Tokyo String Quartet, the Amadeus String Quartet, and the Alban Berg String Quartet.

Whether leading a solo line, blending inside an orchestra, or shaping a recorded take, Clement brings elegance, intensity, and emotional clarity to the cello. His playing is rooted in classical depth, but shaped by the energy and imagination of Los Angeles, a city where music, movement, theater, and cinema meet.
